Martindale Schoolhouse Wedding

Martindale, TX

Katie and Jessicah met at Camp For Life in April 2014. Katie was volunteering and Jessicah was the camp director. A job well done by Katie landed her an invitation from Jessicah to come back that summer to join the camp staff. Camp is where their story begins. A flirty friendship sparked into something new. Eventually, the couple started dating and were inseparable for seven years before choosing their love forever. Katie and Jessicah were surrounded by their family, friends, and all of their camp crew as they said their vows this past weekend. It was an honor to capture their love.

Pre-ceremony

A romantic at heart, Jessicah wanted to see her bride for the first time coming down the aisle. This meant we had two getting ready locations for the day. Katie and her bridal party got ready in the main house at the venue and Jessicah and her party got ready at a nearby Airbnb. The bride and her ladies had their hair and makeup done while sipping mimosas and Red Bulls. The groom and her crew enjoyed Dos XXs and playing beer pong before getting ready. Katie's Mom helped her into her dress and Jessicah's best woman helped her get suited. Because it was a chilly day, we did a mixture of indoor and outdoor portraits of the bride, groom, and wedding party.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place on the front lawn with the schoolhouse as the backdrop. Jessicah made her way down the aisle and Katie arrived in style in a white Tesla, where her father met her at the front gate to escort her down the aisle. The two said their own personal vows to each other and were married surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Reception

The reception took place in the schoolhouse gymnasium that has been converted into the coolest open-air space with beautiful light, original brick, and a large space to truly make it your own. We did a reception room reveal for the couple before heading to the San Marcos river to do their newlywed portraits. Their party was kicked off with a grand entrance that introduced their wedding party and the newly married Holloways! Then we went into Katie and Jessicah's first dance, followed by Katie's dance with her father, and finally Jessicah's dance with her mother. Someone grab the tissues! There weren't many dry eyes in the crowd. Chuy's catered dinner with fajitas and before you know it, we were cutting the cake, dancing the night away, popping champagne, and sending off the couple with a sparkler exit. It was the best day for the best couple.
